Description

KeyPad Plus Jeweller

Wireless keypad with touch buttons supporting authentication via Pass, Tag, and codes

Contactless control without reliability compromises

KeyPad Plus Jeweller provides seamless and secure management of an Ajax system. Control security modes, activate Night Mode, and manage specific groups with one device. KeyPad Plus supports Pass cards and Tag key fobs with virtually unhackable DESFire® chips, as well as various access codes. The device is connected wirelessly to a hub at a distance of up to 1,700 m1. The batteries last up to 3.5 years.

Two authentication methods

KeyPad Plus supports contactless access devices, such as Pass cards or Tag key fobs, as well as codes for user authentication. Access-related information is available in Ajax apps. All events, including user activity and authentication details, can be viewed in the app feed. The apps also allow admins to grant, revoke, restrict, or terminate access permissions to particular users in real time.

Pass card and Tag key fob

When someone uses the Pass card or the Tag key fob, it is recorded in the event feed of the Ajax app. The admin can revoke, restrict, or temporarily suspend the access rights at any time. Admins can also change users’ rights by expanding or restricting their access to particular groups.

Code

KeyPad Plus supports code types as follows:

  • keypad code (one per keypad)
  • personal code (individual codes for up to 200 users)
  • codes for unregistered users (up to 99 codes)
  • duress codes (one keypad code and up to 200 personal codes)

Contactless access devices

The Pass card and the Tag key fob are equipped with original DESFire® chips and feature the same functionality but different enclosures. Users can choose the form that is convenient for them. One Tag or Pass can control 13 security systems. Access devices are sold separately in batches of 3/10/100 pieces.

Top-tier data protection

To identify users quickly and securely, KeyPad Plus Jeweller features the DESFire® technology. It is the best-in-class contactless solution to identify a user by card or key fob.

DESFire® is based on the ISO 14443 international standard and combines comprehensive 128-bit encryption and copy protection. This technology is also used in transportation systems of European capitals and access systems at NASA.

Access codes for unregistered users

With a simple assignment of a personal access code in the hub settings, office employees, cleaning company staff, or other individuals enter the area with convenience at its finest.

  • Creating and editing codes remotely
  • Notifications on adding, removing, and deactivating code
  • A unique name and ID binding to identify the user
  • Up to 99 keypad access codes
Complete protection in case of emergency
Emergency alert

The user notifies about the emergency alert
System transmits the alarm
The security company calls a rapid response unit

KeyPad Plus has a panic button that triggers an alarm. The panic button can be set up to notify users about the alarm, activate sirens, or run an automation scenario. If the user is forced to disarm the system, they can use a duress code. After the code is entered, the keypad simulates regular disarming and sends an alarm to the security company. KeyPad Plus has one duress code for the device and supports individual codes for up to 200 users, including unregistered ones.

  • Panic button to notify of an alarm
  • Duress codes

Smart security management console

KeyPad Plus is also a simple way to use automation scenarios. Just change the security mode via keypad or press a panic button on the device. The Ajax system automatically turns off the lights, water supply, and appliances. Also, the system closes roller shutters when the user leaves the premises and arms the system.

Outstanding autonomy

A well-thought-out combination of software and hardware ensures that KeyPad Plus Jeweller gets the most out of the pre-installed AA (FR6) batteries. After the batteries are tested in real-time at the production stage, Ajax Systems inspects every unit to ensure the accuracy of the battery characteristics. The batteries provide up to 3.5 years of autonomous keypad operation. Users and security companies can always check the battery status via Ajax apps and anticipate maintenance thanks to early low-battery warnings.

  • Real-time testing during battery production
  • Up to 3.5 years of autonomous operation
  • Low battery notification in advance

Jeweller

Unique wireless technology

An Ajax system uses two-way secure radio communication based on the Jeweller proprietary protocol. It provides block cipher encryption and device authentication at each communication session with the hub to prevent sabotage, spoofing, or data theft.

Up to 1,700 m of radio communication1 with a hub or range extender
Encrypted two-way radio communication
Notifications about jamming and connection loss

Scaled and comprehensive

For complex radio signal conditions, the ReX Jeweller range extender boosts the range of all Ajax devices and manages their communication with the hub via Jeweller. And ReX 2 Jeweller assures stable communication even through steel and concrete via Ethernet using the wire as the additional communication channel. Up to 5 range extenders can operate within one Ajax system to expand the network twice as big, covering multistorey buildings with underground parking and basements.

Up to 5 range extenders within one system

Ethernet as an alternative communication channel
  • Big estate and large facilities
  • Business center with underground parking
  • Warehouse or industrial complex
  • Sectional metal hangar

System supervision

All Ajax devices perform automatic self-diagnosis and report their states to the hub. Essential parameters, including tamper, communication, power supply, and sensor statuses, are continuously monitored. The Ajax Cloud server controls communication between the hub and Ajax apps, ensuring instant notifications for ARCs, security companies, and users. In case of any malfunction or communication failure, an engineer is informed immediately to provide necessary services.

  • Automatic device self-diagnosis with a state report
  • Regular polling to display the current device state on apps
  • Instant maintenance notifications

Complex sabotage protection

Tamper alarm
Users and a security company are notified when someone removes the keypad from the mounting panel. Also, the keypad is fixed with a screw from the bottom.
Data encryption
All data the system stores and transmits is protected by a block cipher with a dynamic key. Encryption makes it extremely difficult to reprogram the keypad and replace or steal the data.
Data-rich notifications
The Ajax system instantly notifies about alarms and events with informative notifications: security companies and users know exactly which device was triggered, when and where it happened.
Protection against spoofing
The hub checks the device’s unique parameters for authentication during each communication session. If any parameter fails the check, the hub ignores device commands.
Regular polling
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. The system controls each device state and reports if there is a malfunction or connection loss. Updating the statuses of devices depends on the Jeweller settings; the default value is 36 seconds. Regardless of the polling period, tamper alarms are sent instantly.
Communication failure detection
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. With minimal polling interval settings (3 data packages and 12 seconds), it takes only 36 seconds to identify communication loss and notify the security company and users about the incident. Additionally, the hub is controlled by the Ajax Cloud server, so each element of the system is supervised.
Protection against code guessing and use of third-party devices
KeyPad Plus is locked if an incorrect code is entered more than three times in a row within a minute. The keypad only responds to cards, key fobs, and smartphones authorized in the Ajax app, so controlling the system through a third-party access device is impossible.
Duress code and panic button
If the user is forced to disarm the system, they can use a duress code. After the code is entered, the keypad simulates disarming and simultaneously sends an alarm to the security company. Additionally, the user can press the panic button to send an alarm in case of a threat.
Pass card and Tag key fob copy protection
Pass cards and Tag key fobs used for user authentication are equipped with DESFire® chips. Thanks to 128-bit encryption, the technology makes contactless access devices virtually unhackable.
Effortless installation and setup
It is easy to pair KeyPad Plus with a hub: all you need is to scan the QR code. No enclosure disassembly or battery installation required. PRO Desktop is available for professional monitoring.
