DoorProtect Jeweller is a wireless opening detector designed to secure doors, windows, and skylights by detecting intrusion or burglary attempts. It features a British-made reed switch rated for over 2 million openings. The detector comes with magnets of two sizes for flexible installation even on narrow window and door frames. DoorProtect Jeweller is powered by a pre-installed battery, ensuring operation for up to 7 years.

Encased in a durable plastic capsule, the reed switch ensures decades of reliable operation and remains unaffected by drops or transportation.

Enhanced security with additional detectors

DoorProtect Jeweller features terminals for connecting any third-party wired detector with an NC contact type3 to enhance the reliability of the entire system. For example, an additional opening detector with a different operating principle can be integrated, or even a motion or vibration detector. When connected to DoorProtect Jeweller, these devices can raise alarms either independently or along with the opening detector.

Never miss a visitor

The Chime feature transforms an Ajax opening detector along with an Ajax siren into a traditional doorbell. When the system is disarmed, the siren notifies users about doors being opened with one of four available short beep patterns. PRO users can adjust the signal volume and assign different patterns to each entrance, making it easy to recognize which door was opened.

Wire-free flexibility and stellar performance

DoorProtect Jeweller powered by the pre-installed CR123A battery for a hassle-free wire-free setup. While these batteries undergo real-time testing during production, Ajax Systems additionally inspects every unit to verify the accuracy of its characteristics. The battery is easily replaceable and offers up to 7 years of autonomous operation. Battery status is always accessible in an Ajax app, with users and the monitoring company receiving low power warnings months in advance.

Unique wireless technology

Jeweller is Ajax’s proprietary radio protocol for secure two-way communication. It provides a block cipher and device authentication during each communication session with an Ajax hub or range extender. Jeweller prevents sabotage, spoofing, and data theft.

Long-range performance

For complex radio signal conditions, the ReX Jeweller range extender boosts the range of all Ajax devices and manages their communication with the hub via Jeweller. And ReX 2 Jeweller assures stable communication even through steel and concrete via Ethernet using the wire as the additional communication channel. Up to 5 range extenders can operate within one Ajax system to expand the network twice as big, covering multistory buildings with underground parking and basements.

System supervision

All Ajax devices perform automatic self-diagnosis and report their states to the hub. Essential parameters, including tamper, communication, power supply, and sensor states, are continuously monitored. The Ajax Cloud server controls communication between the hub and Ajax apps, ensuring instant notifications for security companies and users. If there is any malfunction or communication failure, an engineer will be immediately informed to provide the necessary services.

Sabotage resistance


Tamper alarm

The detector contains a tamper that activates an alarm if the device is removed from the surface or mounting panel. The system instantly notifies the security company and users of any intrusion attempts.


Data encryption
All data the system stores and transmits is protected by block encryption featuring a dynamic key. This encryption deters intentional sabotage attempts on the detector.

Informative notifications
Both the monitoring station and security system users instantly receive notifications about events. The information provided includes time, device name, event type, and room location.

Regular polling
The device regularly exchanges data with the hub. The system controls each device state and reports if there is a malfunction or connection loss.

Device authentication against spoofing
The hub checks the detector’s unique parameters for authentication during each communication session. If any parameter fails the check, the hub ignores device commands.

Connection loss detection
With the minimum polling interval settings (3 data packages every 12 seconds), it takes only 36 seconds to detect connection loss and notify the security company and users of the incident.


Effortless installation and setup

DoorProtect Jeweller is ready to operate straight out of the box. Using the SmartBracket panel, an installer can effortlessly mount the device, eliminating the need to disassemble the enclosure. Ajax apps help quickly make the device a part of the system: simply pair the device with the hub by scanning the QR code. It can always be reconfigured remotely without the need for on-site visits.
